Ezra Just Doesn't Get It

Ezra Klein, in an ill-fated attempt to derail the Giuliani Juggernaut, posts about the quality of the U.S. Healthcare system. However, he undoes his own arguments with his second graph! I look at that graph, with that big, beautiful, red bar representing all those (lost) US years of life, and all I can say is "We're Number One! USA! USA! USA!" Here, for your enjoyment, I have produced a more patriotic version of the same graph:
