The Buckeyes need to get better, if they want to compete for a national title again.
I've been saying all along that the nation shouldn't be angry with the Buckeyes for being in this game; you should blame USC and Georgia and West Virginia for screwing up.
After the game, I feel the need to edit that sentiment. The Buckeyes should be furious with USC and Georgia and West Virginia. The 2007 Buckeye team should have been a resting point between two top five years. They started off ranked around 10th, and they should have stayed there. The real top five teams didn't hold up their end.
So yeah, the Buckeyes ended the year by being embarassed, but they shouldn't have been there in the first place. The real embarassments were USC, West Virgina, Georgia, Michigan, Florida - and their successes in lesser bowls shouldn't obscure the potential the left on the table.
